Welcome to the Rotary Club of Warners Bay

Thank you for visiting the Rotary Club of Warners Bay. We are sure you will find our club to be very welcoming and enjoyable. We have a good mix of business owners, managers, professionals and community members, and there is a variety of projects and community engagements in which our club participates.

Our flagship event is the Loop the Lake bike ride and we hold an annual local business awards night. Our regular club meeting dates are listed on the google calendar. Most of our meetings are held at the terrific venue where we normally meet, Bayviews in Warners Bay (Brownsugar Restaurant).

We meet fortnightly and between meetings is where much of the rotary ‘work’ is done via email or in smaller groups organising projects and activities. There are opportunities to meet with rotary members in other clubs either locally or when travelling, there are many great clubs in our region. As a rotarian you are welcome to visit any of the thousands of clubs in the world and in each you will find respectful, friendly and community minded people. Some of our members are seasoned Rotarians of many years whilst other members are quite new to Rotary and each takes part to the degree that they are willing and able to do so.

As a club and individual members we:

  • enjoy each others company, networking and friendship
  • support and encourage our fellow club members in their family life, vocational work and community projects
  • promote and manage the Loop The Lake bike ride held annually
  • donate funds to the John Hunter Children’s Charity and other Rotary and local charities
  • go on interesting outings and trips as a club such as conferences, weekends away, poetry night and science challenges
  • cook a BBQ for Ronald McDonald House each year and provide all the food and meet with the families there
  • assist with the running of the science and engineering challenge and provide structure and funding for new projects
  • attend various functions and dinners with other community groups and Rotary clubs

The Pride of Workmanship program is a Rotary initiative. On Monday 25th May 2015, Warners Bay Rotary held its annual Pride of Workmanship Awards night. This year we have presented awards to people in the service industry, as a huge ‘thank you’ for all that they do in the community.

Our president, Kerry Hayes, whilst presenting the awards, said “We are delighted to recognize employees nominated by their employers who display outstanding qualities in terms of approach, attitude, dedication and commitment to their job”.

If you would like to have dinner with us sometime please contact us and attend our next meeting.

Anyone can visit a Rotary club as a guest, get to know the club members and enjoy a meal.

You can certainly invite yourself to a Rotary meeting, simply let us know you are coming for catering numbers.

Rotary is not a secret society, there are no complicated inductions or tests to pass but we will ensure that the people that join our club are upstanding and honest members of our community with an interest in meeting new people and contributing to the projects and fund raising we endorse.

Our meetings are quite relaxed, the ‘Rotary business’ is kept brief and informative. There is ample opportunity to chat and get to know your fellow Rotarians. The function room that we meet is connected to the restaurant and bar, the dinners are of the highest quality and there are a variety of wines, beers, coffee and other drinks available to purchase.

We are fortunate to have such a wonderful venue for our meetings at the Bayviews Function Centre (Brown Sugar Restaurant) where we are served an entree of tastey toasted breads, a main meal of meat and vegetables followed by a delicious dessert.
